Description:

We’re seeking a creative and detail-oriented Podcast Editor to help produce high-quality audio content for our podcast. You’ll be responsible for editing audio recordings, removing unwanted noises, and enhancing sound quality to deliver professional results. You’ll work closely with hosts and producers to refine the audio, enhance storytelling, and maintain a cohesive tone throughout the episodes. You’ll cut and trim audio, remove filler words, and fix any mistakes to ensure the content is clear and easy to listen to. You’ll work with audio editing tools to improve pacing, remove filler words, and adjust volume levels for clarity and consistency. You’ll incorporate music, sound effects, and transitions to enhance storytelling and make episodes more engaging for listeners. You’ll collaborate with the creative team to incorporate feedback, ensuring that each episode aligns with the overall vision of the podcast. You’ll ensure that each episode meets technical specifications, optimizing audio for different platforms and devices.

Basic Qualifications:

• Recommend music, jingles, or sound design elements when requested to elevate the brand identity.
• Support upload and publishing workflows—uploading to platforms like Libsyn, Anchor, Buzzsprout, or a custom CMS.
• Perform quality control checks before publishing to catch issues like echo, misalignment, or missing segments.
• Maintain an archive of raw and edited files, keeping backups organized for future edits, remasters, or republishing needs.
• Help standardize the podcast’s sound—keeping tone, volume, and pacing consistent across episodes and seasons.

Preferred:

• Able to sync multi-track recordings and balance guest and host audio levels.
• Organized and timely with file delivery, client communication, and revision requests.
• Wants to grow into roles like Senior Audio Editor, Podcast Producer, or Creative Director.
• Familiar with audio enhancements such as compression, EQ, and normalization.
• Understands audio editing fundamentals including trimming, noise reduction, and leveling.

You’ll stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in podcast editing to continually improve your skills and workflow. You’ll collaborate with the team to brainstorm and implement creative ideas to improve the podcast’s production value. You’ll ensure a seamless editing process, from the initial raw file to the final uploaded episode, optimizing for quality and efficiency. This remote role provides flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to the success of an exciting podcast.
