Description:

We’re hiring a Baker Trainee who’s passionate about working with their hands, learning classic techniques, and starting each day with the smell of fresh bread and pastry. You’ll begin by learning how to scale large batches of dough, preparing ingredients accurately and efficiently while the city sleeps. You’ll assist in mixing doughs, folding batters, and learning how different ingredients behave under heat and time. You’ll help portion and shape doughs, scoop batter into tins, and prep items for the oven with speed and accuracy. You’ll rotate between tasks like mixing, baking, glazing, and plating — seeing the full process from start to finish. You’ll rotate between mixing, shaping, loading, baking, and packaging stations as part of a coordinated production team. You’ll learn how to label products correctly, note allergens, and pack items with full transparency for customer confidence. You’ll help track what sells, note customer favorites, and restock hot items as needed throughout the day. You’ll learn how to prep café-style treats like banana bread, cinnamon rolls, and lemon bars that match the mood of the space.

Basic Qualifications:

• Keep cool under pressure when juggling multiple timers, orders, or adjustments.
• Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure products are perfectly cooked and golden.
• Ensure all items meet consistent taste, texture, and appearance standards.
• Coordinate with team members to divide tasks and keep the workflow smooth during busy hours.
• Package, label, and display baked goods attractively for retail or delivery.

Preferred:

• Familiar with operating mixers, ovens, proofers, dough sheeters, and other baking equipment safely and efficiently.
• Able to follow recipes precisely, measure ingredients accurately, and adjust batch sizes as needed.
• Values consistency, creativity, and craftsmanship in every batch.
• Able to clean equipment, follow closing procedures, and prep for the next day’s production.
• Comfortable handling both sweet and savory baked items across various product categories.
