Description:
We’re looking for a Medical Laboratory Technician trainee who’s ready to learn, grow, and make a quiet but meaningful difference in people’s lives. You may be just starting out, but we’ll treat you like a future professional from day one — with guidance, structure, and respect. Your primary focus will be learning the correct procedures for sample collection support, labeling, storage, and controlled transfer within the laboratory chain of custody. You will assist in daily equipment checks, basic calibrations, and maintaining environmental conditions required for certified diagnostic operations. You’ll assist in preparing test panels, organizing workflow, and helping the senior technicians keep everything clean, compliant, and audit-ready. g. You’ll observe proper safety protocols, understand why PPE matters, and build habits that will serve you in every lab from here on out. You’ll be expected to log every step of your workflow, track time precisely, and note anomalies clearly during shadowed procedures. You will be exposed to hematology, microbiology, immunoassay, and biochemistry benches — not for speed, but for process understanding. You’ll begin to understand how lab values connect to patient symptoms, how flags are reviewed, and when results need a second check.
Basic Qualifications:
- Record and report test results accurately into laboratory information systems (LIS), ensuring timely delivery to physicians and healthcare teams.
- Verify patient information, test orders, and sample integrity before processing to avoid errors or contamination.
- Recognize abnormal findings and know when to notify supervising staff for further evaluation or review.
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient lab environment—properly disposing of waste and maintaining sterile workstations.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment including microscopes, centrifuges, analyzers, and spectrophotometers to ensure accurate test results.
Preferred:
- Understands how to handle biological specimens properly and follow chain-of-custody procedures.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures, safety protocols, and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Wants to grow into roles like Medical Technologist, Lab Supervisor, or Clinical Research Coordinator.
- Values precision, reliability, and adherence to scientific and ethical standards.
- Comfortable working with lab information systems (LIS) and accurately recording test results.
Benefits:
- You’ll have input into workflow design, equipment upgrades, and procedural improvements.
- You’ll work in a calm, respectful setting where science and care meet.
- Your eye for detail is valued more than speed — this is about quality first, always.
- And yes, we’ll make sure your equipment works, your efforts are appreciated, and your career has room to grow — one clean slide or calibrated centrifuge at a time.
- We provide high-quality instruments, clear protocols, and safety-first culture — your role is respected and protected.
You’ll train not just your hands, but your eyes — to spot inconsistencies, notice contamination risks, and double-check every ID number. You’ll document with clarity, report with accuracy, and know that lives depend on the numbers you enter. You’ll learn how to work efficiently without rushing, and how to prioritize accuracy over speed when it counts most. You’ll grow into someone who others can count on — the one who quietly makes sure nothing is missed, spilled, mislabeled, or left incomplete. You’ll start small, but everything you do — every test you touch — plays a role in helping someone get answers they need. You’ll observe how interdisciplinary teams interact, and how lab results integrate with clinical workflows across departments. If you care deeply about doing things right — even when no one’s watching — you’ll fit right in with us. You’ll begin as an observer, but you’re expected to grow into a contributor — someone trusted to perform basic procedures to protocol. If you’re ready to build serious technical habits, work under strict standards, and grow in a professional medical lab setting — we’re ready to train you properly.
