Description:

We’re looking for a sharp and level-headed Online Chat Moderator to help us maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere across our digital platforms. You’ll be responsible for monitoring live chats, comment threads, and community forums, making sure our space stays free from spam, hate speech, and off-topic chaos. More than just enforcing rules, you’ll be shaping the culture — setting the tone through your responses, helping newcomers feel welcome, and stepping in calmly when discussions get heated. You’ll act as the eyes and ears of our community, catching inappropriate content, flagging recurring issues, and ensuring our guidelines are consistently followed. Whether it's chatrooms, livestreams, or comment sections, you'll be a steady, helpful presence. You’ll respond to common questions, remove spam or abusive content, and help guide user behavior in a way that reflects our values.

Basic Qualifications:

• Attend team syncs or mod check-ins to align on priorities, tone, and recurring issues.
• Use moderation tools like keyword filters, mute/ban functions, and alert systems effectively.
• Use judgment—some situations call for strict enforcement, others for empathy and conversation.
• Maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive issues like harassment or user reports.
• Be available for weekend or evening shifts if chat activity peaks during those times.

Preferred:

• Interested in digital careers such as community management, social media, or customer support.
• Excited to contribute to a positive, well-moderated online environment.
• Enjoys watching how online communities evolve and thrive.
• Comfortable with online communities, social media platforms, or forum-style chats.
• Currently studying communication, psychology, media, or related fields.
