Description:

We’re hiring a dedicated Discord Moderator to help manage and grow our online community, ensuring a positive environment for all members. You’ll be responsible for enforcing the server rules, ensuring that users engage in a respectful and friendly manner. You’ll assist with the moderation of both text and voice channels, keeping conversations friendly, productive, and respectful. You’ll collaborate with other moderators to resolve conflicts, mediate disputes, and ensure that all community guidelines are followed. You’ll monitor chat activity, ensuring that conversations remain respectful, appropriate, and in line with server rules. You’ll assist in creating and enforcing server rules and guidelines to ensure a safe space for all members. You’ll collaborate with the community management team to gather feedback, track trends, and suggest improvements for the community experience. You’ll engage with members, answer questions, and offer assistance to ensure that all users feel heard and valued.

Basic Qualifications:

• Avoid power-tripping or playing favorites—moderation is about fairness, not ego.
• Use discretion when handling sensitive situations—don’t overshare bans, DMs, or user reports with the public.
• Answer member questions, resolve minor conflicts, and create a friendly, inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.
• Help test new bots, features, or server changes before they’re rolled out to the whole community.
• Step in quickly during conflicts, escalating only when necessary and explaining actions transparently when possible.

Preferred:

• Background or interest in online communities, gaming, education, or fan spaces.
• Can keep discussions on-topic and redirect conversations when needed.
• Wants to help maintain a welcoming, inclusive space for people from different backgrounds.
• Willing to escalate complex situations to more experienced moderators or admins.
• Thrives in collaborative, digital-first spaces and loves helping others feel welcome.

You’ll stay up-to-date with trends and updates within Discord, implementing new features and tools to enhance the community experience. You’ll stay up to date with Discord updates, ensuring the server’s functionality and moderation features are optimized.
