Description:

We’re hiring a Shoe Repair Specialist who specializes in athletic and casual footwear — perfect for someone who understands the mechanics of sneakers, active shoes, and performance wear. You’ll travel to homes, offices, or drop-off hubs with a compact repair kit to perform on-the-spot fixes or collect shoes for workshop service. You’ll assist in performing minor repairs such as heel tips, sole reinforcement, polishing, and basic stitching at the client’s location. You’ll assist in custom sole work for running shoes, walking shoes, and orthopedic models to improve balance and wear patterns. You’ll learn how to use micro-sanders, needle stitchers, and hand-finishing tools to restore like-new condition without altering original structure. You’ll assist with protective sole installations, custom taps, heel plates, and invisible sole guards for designer footwear. You’ll work with synthetic materials, foam, canvas, rubber, and glued constructions that differ from traditional leather shoes. You’ll assist with protective sole installation, adhesive repairs, and preventive treatments using travel-safe materials. You’ll maintain a tidy mobile station and keep your toolkit stocked, sanitized, and ready for multiple jobs per day.

Basic Qualifications:

• Handle high-volume or urgent repairs calmly and efficiently.
• Adapt to unusual or custom repair requests with creativity and resourcefulness.
• Track repair jobs, receipts, and customer information for pickup and billing accuracy.
• Perform quality control checks before returning items to ensure satisfaction.
• Handle boots, dress shoes, heels, sneakers, and specialty footwear with proper care.

Preferred:

• Background or strong interest in shoemaking, leatherwork, tailoring, or fine craftsmanship.
• Able to replace or repair heels, patch holes, stretch tight shoes, and shine or polish various finishes.
• Wants to grow into roles like Head Cobbler, Workshop Owner, or Artisan Footwear Designer.
• Open to experimenting with modern adhesives, repair materials, or eco-friendly solutions.
• Experienced in communicating with customers about service expectations and pricing clearly and respectfully.
