Description:

Join our team as a Building Maintenance Technician Trainee — no experience required, just a real interest in fixing things and learning new skills. You’ll be introduced to the behind-the-scenes work that keeps buildings safe, functional, and comfortable. We’ll train you from the ground up — showing you how to safely use tools, read maintenance logs, and follow procedures. You’ll help with small repairs, like tightening door hinges, replacing ceiling tiles, or unclogging a sink. You’ll start to understand how heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical components are maintained day to day. You’ll shadow technicians during service calls and see firsthand how they diagnose and solve real problems. Expect to be on your feet, moving through hallways, boiler rooms, rooftops, and everything in between. We’ll train you to be proactive — knowing when to tighten a bolt or report a weird noise. Plumbing, electrical, painting, locks — you’ll get a taste of everything as you explore the trade.

Basic Qualifications:

• Maintain common areas, restrooms, stairwells, and mechanical rooms in clean, safe, and working condition.
• Use ladders, lifts, and scaffolding safely to access and maintain elevated systems or fixtures.
• Ultimately, keep the building running smoothly, safely, and efficiently by solving problems before they become bigger issues.
• Respond to service requests for minor repairs, fixture replacements, leaks, clogs, or general building upkeep.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems such as plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and electrical components.

Preferred:

• Can interact professionally with tenants, office staff, or building managers.
• Pays close attention to safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.
• Experience performing routine maintenance tasks in commercial, residential, or industrial buildings.
• Able to prioritize tasks and respond quickly to urgent maintenance issues.
• Thrives in environments where no two days are exactly the same and work has a direct impact.
