Description:

We’re hiring a Loader Trainee to support cargo handling at our maritime terminal — ideal for someone who’s physically ready, alert, and curious about large-scale global logistics. You’ll begin by learning how to load and unload shipments of perishable goods like produce, dairy, and packaged foods. You’ll be taught how to lift and carry heavy items safely, using proper posture and teamwork for awkward or oversized loads. You’ll help move materials across the site to where they’re needed — sometimes on foot, sometimes with wheelbarrows or dollies. You’ll help prepare shipments by loading trucks with care, balancing loads to prevent shifting during transport. You’ll support receiving by checking delivery slips and helping match materials to work orders or zone labels. You’ll support loading trucks for early deliveries, matching items to store orders and verifying quantities against pick lists. You’ll be taught how to use pallet jacks, floor scales, and scanners to manage goods quickly and accurately. You’ll follow strict safety rules — from reflective vests to helmet use — and help maintain a clean, hazard-free dock area.

Basic Qualifications:

• Report damaged goods, missing items, or shipment discrepancies immediately.
• Use equipment like dollies, hand trucks, or forklifts if certified and required.
• Assist with general warehouse tasks like sorting, staging, or cleaning when not actively loading.
• Stack items efficiently and securely to prevent shifting or falling during transport.
• Follow weight limits and stacking guidelines to ensure safe and balanced loads.

Preferred:

• Experience working in warehouses, shipping yards, or delivery services involving manual loading and unloading tasks.
• Able to work night shifts, early mornings, weekends, or overtime depending on shipping schedules.
• Follows safety regulations and wears proper protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, boots, and belts.
• Able to help set up staging areas, maintain clear aisles, and support cleanup after loading tasks.
• Background or interest in logistics, shipping, warehouse operations, or freight handling.
