Description:

We’re seeking a creative and detail-oriented Podcast Editor to help produce high-quality audio content for our podcast. You’ll be responsible for editing raw podcast audio, including cutting, mixing, and improving sound quality to produce polished final episodes. You’ll collaborate with podcast hosts and producers to understand the desired tone, pacing, and style for each episode. You’ll work with raw audio files to eliminate background noise, adjust volumes, and correct any technical issues. You’ll add music, sound effects, and transitions to bring each episode to life, enhancing the overall listening experience. You’ll manage multiple podcast episodes simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality audio content on time. You’ll work within tight deadlines, managing multiple episodes at once and ensuring timely delivery of each episode. You’ll ensure that each podcast episode aligns with the brand’s voice and messaging while maintaining high audio standards.

Basic Qualifications:

• Support multi-track editing, remote recordings, and interviews done via platforms like Riverside, SquadCast, or Zoom.
• Edit raw podcast recordings into polished, professional episodes—removing filler words, pauses, background noise, and technical glitches.
• Ensure all content meets podcast platform guidelines (Apple, Spotify, etc.) and follows copyright best practices.
• Provide feedback on recording quality and offer tips to improve future audio (mic technique, room setup, etc.).
• Perform quality control checks before publishing to catch issues like echo, misalignment, or missing segments.

Preferred:

• Pays attention to detail in removing unintentional mistakes, repetitions, or off-topic content.
• Background or interest in audio production, storytelling, radio, or media.
• Able to write short show notes, timecodes, or summaries if requested.
• Comfortable editing for flow, removing filler words, long pauses, or background noise.
• Familiar with audio enhancements such as compression, EQ, and normalization.

You’ll stay up-to-date with industry trends, podcasting software, and new editing techniques to keep improving your skills and the podcast’s quality. You’ll organize raw podcast files and edit them efficiently, ensuring that no content is lost in the process. You’ll ensure a seamless editing process, from the initial raw file to the final uploaded episode, optimizing for quality and efficiency.
