Description:

We’re hiring a Baker Trainee to join our high-volume production bakery — perfect for someone who’s punctual, process-focused, and ready to learn how large-scale baking works behind the scenes. You’ll begin by learning how to work with specialty flours like almond, oat, rice, and buckwheat while avoiding cross-contamination. You’ll assist in preparing egg-free, dairy-free batters and doughs using plant-based alternatives like flax, aquafaba, or coconut milk. You’ll help portion and shape doughs, scoop batter into tins, and prep items for the oven with speed and accuracy. You’ll help monitor baking times and temperatures, rotating trays and adjusting settings under supervision. You’ll help load industrial deck ovens, rotate products, and time multiple bakes at once to avoid overbrowning or underbaking. You’ll learn how to operate mixers, ovens, proofers, and cooling racks safely and efficiently. You’ll assist with keeping the prep area clean, labeled, and stocked — from flour bins to icing bags. You’ll help wrap and label finished breads for wholesale delivery, retail shelves, or early-morning pickup orders.

Basic Qualifications:

• Track supply needs and report low stock of flour, yeast, eggs, or other essentials.
• Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure products are perfectly cooked and golden.
• Handle customer requests or complaints respectfully, especially in smaller bakery settings.
• Coordinate with team members to divide tasks and keep the workflow smooth during busy hours.
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately, adjusting formulas as needed for consistency or scale.

Preferred:

• Background or passion in baking, culinary arts, food production, or pastry design.
• Familiar with allergen handling, labeling, and recipe adjustments for dietary needs (e.g., gluten-free, vegan).
• Values consistency, creativity, and craftsmanship in every batch.
• Comfortable handling both sweet and savory baked items across various product categories.
• Open to learning seasonal items, specialty recipes, or new techniques as part of professional growth.
