Description:
We’re looking for an experienced Discord Moderator to join our team and help manage our growing online community. You’ll be responsible for monitoring chat activity, ensuring users are following the community guidelines and fostering healthy discussions. You’ll assist in moderating conversations, identifying disruptive behavior, and addressing any issues to maintain a safe environment. You’ll help organize and manage events, including discussions, games, and announcements, to keep the community engaged and active. You’ll help resolve conflicts, mediate disputes, and provide support to users in need, ensuring smooth interactions. You’ll work closely with other moderators to implement and enforce server rules, ensuring consistency and fairness. You’ll be the first point of contact for users with questions or concerns, providing timely and helpful responses. You’ll assist with new member onboarding, providing guidance and information about server rules and resources.
Basic Qualifications:
- Monitor chat activity across all channels to ensure conversations stay respectful, on-topic, and within community guidelines.
- Use slowmode, lockdowns, or channel-specific permissions when needed to control chaos during raids or drama.
- Use discretion when handling sensitive situations—don’t overshare bans, DMs, or user reports with the public.
- Be adaptable—what works in one server or phase of growth might not in another.
- Step in quickly during conflicts, escalating only when necessary and explaining actions transparently when possible.
Preferred:
- Pays attention to chat flow and can recognize spam or inappropriate behavior.
- Background or interest in online communities, gaming, education, or fan spaces.
- Willing to take feedback and improve their moderation skills over time.
- Willing to learn how to use moderation tools like MEE6, Dyno, or Carl-bot.
- Wants to grow into roles like Senior Moderator, Community Manager, or Event Lead.
Benefits:
- We credit and celebrate mods — because you hold the server together.
- Your ideas for channels, events, bots, or vibes are *encouraged* — not ignored.
- We provide clear guidelines, tools, and support — but your presence and instinct are what really matter.
- Flexible hours — hop in to moderate when it fits your schedule, whether it's morning vibes or midnight chaos.
- We know modding is emotional labor — and we respect your energy and time.
You’ll manage member roles, permissions, and handle any necessary disciplinary actions according to the server guidelines. You’ll track activity, gather feedback, and provide recommendations to enhance the community and its growth. You’ll monitor the server for any rule violations and take appropriate action to maintain a positive and inclusive environment. You’ll help maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment by addressing toxic behavior and ensuring everyone is treated fairly. You’ll track and report on community health, providing regular updates to the team and offering solutions to any issues. You’ll stay updated with Discord platform changes and implement new features to improve community interaction and moderation. This remote position offers flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to an exciting online environment. If you’re passionate about fostering a positive online environment and helping communities thrive, we’d love to have you join our team.
