Description:

We’re hiring a Plumber Trainee to assist on new construction projects — ideal for someone who’s organized, proactive, and ready to learn how modern plumbing systems are built from the ground up. You’ll begin by learning how to service and install boilers, radiators, circulation pumps, and thermostat controls. You’ll help assess situations quickly, shut off valves, and communicate calmly with distressed clients on arrival. You’ll be trained to cut and fit copper or steel pipe for hot water circulation, following correct slope and spacing guidelines. You’ll be trained to install water lines, waste systems, vent stacks, and pipe sleeves with correct slope and spacing. You’ll help prep bathrooms, kitchens, and utility rooms for future fixtures by positioning lines and testing pressure. You’ll be taught to use tools like pipe cutters, torches, augers, wrenches, and pressure testers with safety and care. You’ll be taught to identify signs of wear in aging systems and recommend when replacement is more efficient than repair. You’ll be taught to read schematics for heating zones, manifold layout, and pump wiring.

Basic Qualifications:

• Adapt quickly when unexpected issues arise mid-job and offer practical solutions.
• Install appliances like dishwashers, water softeners, or sump pumps as needed.
• Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes, safety standards, and permit requirements.
• Cut, assemble, and seal pipe sections using welding, soldering, or press-fit techniques.
• Use tools such as pipe cutters, plungers, augers, and inspection cameras with precision.

Preferred:

• Follows safety procedures when working with hot water lines, gas lines, or sewage systems.
• Proficient in using tools such as pipe cutters, wrenches, threaders, plungers, augers, and soldering equipment.
• Capable of training or mentoring apprentices or junior plumbers as part of a growing team.
• Organized with maintaining work logs, customer service forms, part orders, and billing records.
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials, stand or kneel for extended periods, and work outdoors or in harsh conditions.
