Description:
We’re offering a Nanny Internship for someone passionate about helping young children learn, grow, and thrive in a supportive, playful environment. You’ll assist in building daily routines that include learning moments — whether through storytelling, creative play, or exploring nature. You’ll be taught how to soothe fussiness, read nonverbal cues, and comfort babies during teething or tummy troubles. You’ll be trained to recognize children’s emotional cues, respond calmly to upset behavior, and set gentle boundaries. You’ll assist with fun, screen-free activities like puzzles, crafts, building blocks, nature walks, and story time. You’ll be trained on how to respond to tantrums, separation anxiety, and sibling disagreements with patience and structure. You’ll assist with preparing healthy snacks and meals while introducing children to good habits and independence. You’ll be responsible for tidying play areas, cleaning up after activities, and helping maintain an organized environment. You’ll be trained in observing signs of developmental delays or emotional distress and how to report them appropriately.
Basic Qualifications:
- Read books, play games, and offer creative outlets like arts and crafts or music time.
- Stay up to date on basic first aid, CPR, and child safety practices.
- Be flexible—children are unpredictable, and plans often change on the fly.
- Prepare healthy meals and snacks based on family preferences and dietary needs.
- Accompany children to and from school, extracurriculars, or playdates as needed.
Preferred:
- Values empathy, patience, and trustworthiness in every interaction with children.
- Patient, nurturing, and calm when handling temper tantrums, sibling conflicts, or emotional needs.
- Capable of maintaining a log or summary of daily activities for parental review.
- Follows instructions closely and communicates regularly with parents regarding the child’s behavior or needs.
- Maintains discretion and professionalism regarding the family’s privacy and personal matters.
Benefits:
- You're treated as a partner in the child’s development — not just hired help.
- We provide everything you need — toys, snacks, routines, and backup support.
- Support for certifications or classes if you’re growing in your childcare career.
- Stable schedule that fits *your* life — mornings, afternoons, or full days.
- Meals and snacks included during shifts — stay fueled and comfortable.
You’ll be taught how to observe and report any signs of illness, discomfort, or behavioral changes. You’ll support nap and rest routines, knowing when to help a child wind down and when to energize with activity. You’ll communicate with parents respectfully, providing updates on daily highlights, moods, and progress in a warm and honest way. You’ll communicate with parents clearly and respectfully, sharing daily updates and following instructions closely. You’ll learn emergency procedures and basic first aid protocols so you can respond calmly if needed. We value kindness, reliability, and emotional intelligence more than formal credentials or past experience. This internship is perfect for someone considering a future in childcare, early childhood development, or pediatric support. If you’re ready to support the smallest humans in their biggest moments, we’d love to help you begin your journey.
