Description:
We’re hiring a Translator Trainee to help localize digital products — no experience needed, just strong language sense, attention to detail, and curiosity about how apps and websites talk to users. You’ll help translate documents, website content, emails, subtitles, and short-form materials between two or more languages. We’ll teach you how to keep translations short, consistent, and intuitive — so they fit design without losing clarity. We’ll guide you through the process of maintaining consistent tone, voice, and terminology across projects. ” Expect to translate UI copy, adapt tone for different markets, and avoid wordy phrasing that breaks layouts. Expect to work with localization tools and learn how strings, keys, and placeholders are handled in modern software. You’ll collaborate with designers and developers to keep meaning and UX intact across languages. You’ll help test localized builds, report layout bugs caused by translation, and suggest shorter or clearer alternatives. You’ll gain editing skills by comparing source and target versions side by side and spotting gaps in meaning or tone.
Basic Qualifications:
- Follow client or brand guidelines to ensure translations align with tone and voice.
- Use CAT tools (like SDL Trados, MemoQ, or Smartcat) to streamline work and manage glossaries.
- Proofread and self-check translations before delivery to minimize errors.
- Translate captions, UI elements, documents, and everything in between as needed.
- Translate with empathy—considering emotional context, not just technical accuracy.
Preferred:
- Familiar with using CAT tools like SDL Trados, MemoQ, Smartcat, or DeepL Pro to assist with productivity.
- Interested in ongoing language development and staying updated with industry trends.
- Pays strong attention to detail, especially with formatting, syntax, and linguistic accuracy.
- Can handle confidential or sensitive materials with discretion and professionalism.
- Willing to perform revisions, edits, or post-editing of machine-translated content when required.
Benefits:
- Respectful project managers who plan ahead — no chaos, no ghosting, no guilt-tripping.
- Get paid to bridge worlds — your words make people, ideas, и бизнесы understand each other.
- We celebrate accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and those tricky idioms you nailed.
- Paid training, webinars, and language learning tools — always stay sharp.
- Work with clear briefs, glossaries, and CAT tools — we set you up for success.
You’ll gain experience working with tools like Lokalise, Phrase, or Crowdin, and learn the basics of structured localization workflows. You’ll also help test translations in-app and report any visual issues caused by text length or formatting. You’ll also help improve existing translations, fix awkward phrasing, and bring more humanity into digital interactions. This is perfect for detail-oriented bilinguals who care about tone, space, and making tech feel native everywhere. You’ll build a real portfolio of product-focused translations that show more than just fluency — they show UX thinking. You’ll build a portfolio of subtitled projects across niches — education, lifestyle, tech, interviews. We’ll support you with tools, templates, reviews, and honest feedback to help you grow every week. If you’re ready to help digital products speak clearly in any language — we’re ready to teach you how.
