Description:

This is a rare chance to start your career in building maintenance — no experience required, just motivation and a positive attitude. We’ll train you on how buildings actually work — from electrical panels to boiler rooms, and everything in between. Your first days will involve learning how to handle tools, follow safety procedures, and assist experienced techs. You’ll begin by shadowing experienced maintenance staff and learning the basics of building systems. Every task is a learning opportunity — whether it’s fixing a leaking faucet or testing a smoke detector. You’ll discover how heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems work together in real time. You’ll assist in setting up and maintaining maintenance logs, tracking what’s been fixed and what still needs work. You’ll help with routine inspections, note any issues, and assist in minor repairs across the building. You’ll learn the difference between quick fixes and long-term solutions — and when to escalate issues to senior techs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and infrastructure to identify issues, perform preventative maintenance, and minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with local safety codes, OSHA standards, and company maintenance protocols.
• Update logs and work orders using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to track activity and parts used.
• Assist with seasonal tasks like snow removal, HVAC filter changes, or landscaping duties depending on facility type.
• Maintain common areas, restrooms, stairwells, and mechanical rooms in clean, safe, and working condition.

Preferred:

• Organized with tracking maintenance schedules, supply inventory, and work assignments.
• Familiar with basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs.
• Keeps maintenance rooms, tools, and common areas clean and organized.
• Willing to be on call for emergency repairs or rotating maintenance coverage.
• Capable of maintaining logs of inspections, repairs, and parts used in daily operations.
