Description:

We’re hiring a Shoe Repair Specialist to provide mobile footwear services — ideal for someone who’s independent, organized, and enjoys bringing skilled work directly to the customer. You’ll work on popular brands like Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Vans, and Converse, restoring structure, grip, and appearance. You’ll be trained to work efficiently with compact tools and machines suited for small-space operations. You’ll assist in custom sole work for running shoes, walking shoes, and orthopedic models to improve balance and wear patterns. You’ll operate specialized machines like grinders, sanders, stitchers, and presses while following strict safety procedures. You’ll help explain repair options to clients who may not know what’s possible, building trust through transparency and skill. You’ll be expected to care for a variety of materials including leather, rubber, suede, and synthetic blends. You’ll assist with stitching repairs around toe boxes and collars that see frequent flex and impact. You’ll rotate between active repair work, customer service, and basic sales of shoe care products and accessories.

Basic Qualifications:

• Handle high-volume or urgent repairs calmly and efficiently.
• Offer additional services like belt shortening, bag stitching, or leather care when appropriate.
• Stay current with new materials, footwear construction methods, and repair techniques.
• Perform quality control checks before returning items to ensure satisfaction.
• Work with a variety of materials, including leather, rubber, canvas, and synthetics.

Preferred:

• Pays close attention to measurements, fit, and symmetry for shoes that require resizing or reshaping.
• Capable of identifying structural damage and recommending realistic, cost-effective solutions.
• Open to experimenting with modern adhesives, repair materials, or eco-friendly solutions.
• Pays attention to craftsmanship and ensures repaired shoes are durable, comfortable, and presentable.
• Experienced in communicating with customers about service expectations and pricing clearly and respectfully.
