Description:

We’re hiring a Shoe Repair Specialist who specializes in athletic and casual footwear — perfect for someone who understands the mechanics of sneakers, active shoes, and performance wear. You’ll travel to homes, offices, or drop-off hubs with a compact repair kit to perform on-the-spot fixes or collect shoes for workshop service. You’ll be trained to replace soles and heels, patch tears, restitch seams, and restore worn-down parts using professional tools. You’ll be trained to operate portable tools and battery-powered machines safely and efficiently within small spaces. You’ll offer fast services like lace replacements, heel guard installations, and weatherproof treatments in under 30 minutes. You’ll help log repairs via tablet, issue digital receipts, and track pick-up/drop-off details through the mobile dispatch system. You’ll work with synthetic materials, foam, canvas, rubber, and glued constructions that differ from traditional leather shoes. You’ll assist with stitching repairs around toe boxes and collars that see frequent flex and impact. You’ll rotate between active repair work, customer service, and basic sales of shoe care products and accessories.

Basic Qualifications:

• Provide friendly customer service, answering questions and offering care advice for different shoe types.
• Repair and restore footwear by replacing soles, heels, zippers, and worn-out parts using specialized tools.
• Represent your shop or brand through quality, reliability, and respect for the craft.
• Explain what’s repairable and what’s not, managing expectations with honesty and professionalism.
• Sew torn seams, reattach straps, and reinforce weak areas for long-lasting results.

Preferred:

• Capable of identifying structural damage and recommending realistic, cost-effective solutions.
• Wants to grow into roles like Head Cobbler, Workshop Owner, or Artisan Footwear Designer.
• Familiar with waterproofing treatments, custom dyeing, and professional polishing techniques.
• Willing to maintain a tidy, professional workspace and uphold safety standards.
• Familiar with working on different materials like leather, suede, rubber, canvas, and synthetic fabrics.
