Description:

We’re hiring a Paramedic Trainee to assist in rural and remote response units — ideal for someone who wants to learn how emergency care works far from city hospitals and support systems. You’ll train alongside professionals who respond to large-scale incidents such as traffic pileups, building collapses, fires, or natural disasters. You’ll help prepare for long transports by checking oxygen supply, battery life, medications, and equipment before each shift. You’ll be trained to communicate with nurses and hospital staff during patient handoffs, making sure no detail is missed. You’ll support documentation for each patient encounter — from basic care to emergency transports. You’ll assist in lifting patients from hazardous environments and supporting their transfer to emergency vehicles. You’ll assist in lifting and moving patients safely, following ergonomic techniques and team coordination. You’ll learn how paramedics improvise when backup is unavailable and how to make quick decisions with minimal tools. You’ll be taught how to use communication skills to reassure patients, manage panicked family members, and stay focused under pressure.

Basic Qualifications:

• Report equipment malfunctions or vehicle issues promptly to maintain operational readiness.
• Help train new paramedics, EMTs, or interns when assigned to do so.
• Calmly handle incidents ranging from car accidents and heart attacks to overdoses and childbirth.
• Make split-second decisions in high-pressure situations with a calm and focused mindset.
• Provide advanced life support, including airway management, CPR, defibrillation, and medication administration.

Preferred:

• Experienced in working collaboratively with firefighters, police, and emergency room personnel.
• Can educate patients and family members about care steps or post-discharge instructions when appropriate.
• Organized with inventory checks, medication logs, and vehicle readiness procedures.
• Organized in documenting patient vitals, treatments, and interventions using electronic or written patient care reports (PCRs).
• Certified and licensed as a paramedic with completed EMT and advanced life support (ALS) training.
