Description:
We’re looking for an Online Community Support specialist who knows that behind every username is a real person — and you treat them that way. You’ll be the heartbeat of our online community — greeting new members, answering questions, mediating tricky threads, and encouraging authentic, respectful interaction. You’ll moderate discussions, respond to comments, resolve member concerns, and make sure our community guidelines are followed with fairness and empathy. You’ll monitor activity across platforms like Discord, Slack, Facebook Groups, or our own forums — answering questions, resolving issues, and guiding discussions when they drift off course. You’ll also monitor for feedback, bugs, or emerging trends and relay those insights to the product and support teams so we can improve quickly and stay connected to our users. Whether it’s managing a live event, posting announcements, or responding to DMs, you’ll bring a personal, human tone to every interaction.
Basic Qualifications:
- Respond to user concerns or frustrations with empathy and clarity, offering help or context where possible.
- Create weekly or monthly community recaps, highlighting key discussions, wins, or areas to improve.
- Continuously improve the onboarding experience by testing welcome flows, pinned posts, or intro channels.
- Help resolve disputes with maturity, guiding members back to shared values instead of escalating.
- Participate in syncs with product, CX, or marketing to keep your finger on the pulse of the company and users alike.
Preferred:
- Understands the balance between freedom of expression and maintaining order.
- Understands how to maintain a positive atmosphere and enforce community guidelines.
- Familiar with moderation tools and platforms like Discord, Facebook Groups, Reddit, or Circle.
- Interested in building inclusive, respectful, and diverse digital spaces.
- Values authenticity, safety, and meaningful connections in every user interaction.
Benefits:
- Work with marketing, support, and product — community sits at the center.
- You’ll help build safety, fun, and belonging — not just answer questions.
- We celebrate empathy, inside jokes, and the art of a great reply.
- You’ll make the internet feel a little warmer — one comment at a time.
- Your GIFs, emojis, and personality are not only allowed — they’re encouraged.
You know how to de-escalate tense situations, give thoughtful replies, and maintain a calm, professional voice — even when things get noisy. Whether it’s replying to a frustrated post, celebrating a win with a user, or redirecting a conversation that’s gone off the rails, you bring a calm, thoughtful presence. If you’ve ever made someone feel like they truly belong in a digital space — and enjoyed it — this could be the perfect fit. If you’ve ever made someone feel welcome in a space where they weren’t sure they belonged, this role is for you. Let’s build something kind, useful, and fun — together. Let’s grow a community where people feel seen, safe, and inspired to stay.
