Description:

We’re seeking an experienced Film Director who can lead bold visual storytelling with intention, precision, and heart — someone who thrives at the intersection of vision and execution. You’ll be responsible for interpreting scripts, shaping narrative arcs, and ensuring emotional clarity in every scene. We expect you to collaborate fluidly with writers, cinematographers, art directors, and editors throughout the production pipeline. You’ll lead casting sessions, direct actors with nuance, and bring out performances that feel authentic and layered. You’ll make critical decisions around camera movement, blocking, and framing to maximize narrative and visual impact. Your creative direction will influence everything from costume design to lighting tone to soundscape strategy. We’ll rely on your ability to inspire trust, lead with confidence, and adapt quickly when production challenges arise. You’ll collaborate across departments to balance ambition with feasibility, ensuring each team member feels guided and valued. You’ll oversee post-production from assembly through grading and final sound mix, sculpting the final arc scene by scene.

Basic Qualifications:

• Oversee rehearsals, blocking, and on-set dynamics to ensure a smooth production flow.
• Balance storytelling, artistic expression, and production constraints like budget and time.
• Advocate for your vision while respecting the collaborative nature of filmmaking.
• Ensure the film stays true to its core themes, message, and emotional arc.
• Watch daily footage (dailies) to catch issues early and ensure continuity.

Preferred:

• Experience reviewing dailies, guiding editors, and overseeing the post-production process.
• Capable of giving detailed creative notes to editors, composers, and colorists during post.
• Proficient in planning shot lists, blocking scenes, and collaborating on camera movement, lighting, and composition.
• Organized with production timelines, storyboards, call sheets, and shot breakdowns.
• Able to create a positive set culture that supports collaboration, diversity, and professionalism.
