Description:

We’re looking for a Film Director with a strong artistic voice and the ability to bring unique, emotionally grounded stories to life — someone who can see the invisible structure behind every frame and elevate it with vision and soul. You’ll be responsible for shaping the overall tone, pacing, and narrative of each project, guiding it from concept to final cut. We expect you to collaborate closely with writers, cinematographers, production designers, and editors to ensure visual and thematic coherence. You’ll guide performances on set, bringing out depth, tension, and truth from both seasoned actors and emerging talent. You’ll work closely with DPs and production designers to craft a distinct visual style that enhances the narrative without overpowering it. We’re looking for someone who can make bold aesthetic choices while staying grounded in human connection. You’ll be involved in casting, location scouting, shot listing, and building a cohesive creative team around the project. You’ll be present on set as both a leader and an artist — solving problems in real time while maintaining creative integrity. Post-production will include close work with editors and sound designers to ensure that pacing, tone, and structure stay aligned with your vision.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ensure the film stays true to its core themes, message, and emotional arc.
  • Oversee rehearsals, blocking, and on-set dynamics to ensure a smooth production flow.
  • Translate a script or concept into a compelling visual story with clear artistic vision.
  • Advocate for your vision while respecting the collaborative nature of filmmaking.
  • Guide actors’ performances to bring characters to life authentically and emotionally.

Preferred:

  • Open to directing both live-action and hybrid/multimedia content depending on the project.
  • Knowledgeable about permits, set safety, union rules, and scheduling tools in film production.
  • Proficient in planning shot lists, blocking scenes, and collaborating on camera movement, lighting, and composition.
  • Capable of giving detailed creative notes to editors, composers, and colorists during post.
  • Thrives in high-pressure, creative environments where leadership and vision drive impact.

Benefits:

  • Opportunities to mentor younger creators, if you’re into that.
  • Take breaks between projects to recharge — not jump straight to the next fire.
  • Regular “rough cut” screenings with popcorn, feedback, and zero ego.
  • We don’t rush post-production — quality trumps deadlines.
  • Your name isn’t buried in credits — it’s the first one they see.

You’ll also work with marketing and distribution teams to ensure the soul of the film carries through in how it's positioned to the world. You’ll need to balance creative boldness with logistical awareness, adapting quickly to changing conditions without losing direction. You’ll also work with producers and distributors to align creative goals with audience expectations and delivery requirements. We value directors who listen deeply, speak clearly, and know when to fight for a moment — and when to let it go. You’ll be trusted to make bold choices — and to know when subtlety speaks louder than spectacle. We want someone who lives for that feeling when a scene clicks — when the emotion lands, and you know it’s real. If you believe that great directing is as much about listening as leading — and that the best stories are told through trust — we want to work with you. Let’s tell stories that resonate, surprise, and stay with people long after the screen goes dark.
