We’re looking for a sharp and level-headed Online Chat Moderator to help us maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere across our digital platforms. In this role, you’ll be actively monitoring live chats, group discussions, and community platforms to ensure everyone feels safe, heard, and supported. More than just enforcing rules, you’ll be shaping the culture — setting the tone through your responses, helping newcomers feel welcome, and stepping in calmly when discussions get heated. You should be a strong communicator who can respond quickly without losing professionalism or empathy. Whether it’s a busy livestream or a quiet support channel, you’ll know when to step in and how to communicate effectively. You’ll use tools like bans, flags, and filters effectively, but you’ll also rely on intuition and experience to make judgment calls when situations are nuanced.

Basic Qualifications:

• Monitor live chat rooms, forums, or community channels to maintain respectful and safe conversations.
• Be a calm, neutral presence in heated moments, de-escalating tension before it spreads.
• Spot emerging patterns like common questions or recurring complaints and report them for improvements.
• Advocate for community needs by sharing feedback with developers or marketing when appropriate.
• Use moderation tools like keyword filters, mute/ban functions, and alert systems effectively.

Preferred:

• Able to follow instructions carefully and stick to moderation guidelines.
• Open to training on conflict resolution and platform-specific moderation rules.
• Can stay calm and professional when handling rude or inappropriate messages.
• Takes feedback seriously and strives to improve communication style and decisions.
• Familiar with basic online etiquette and understands what behavior is unacceptable.
