Description:

We’re seeking a Pastry Decorator who sees confectionery as couture — someone who thrives on elegance, balance, and the kind of detail that elevates desserts from beautiful to breathtaking. You’ll work on custom orders for birthdays, weddings, baby showers, corporate events, and more — each with its own theme, challenge, and flair. You’ll meet with clients or take detailed briefs to understand exactly what they’re dreaming of, then bring it to life with buttercream, fondant, and artistry. You’ll collaborate with bakers and clients to understand themes, color palettes, and customization requests. You’ll lead decoration for multi-tiered cakes, petits fours, plated desserts, and limited-edition product drops. We expect you to bring consistency to even the most intricate finishes — piping lace, layering textures, or placing edible pearls with surgical precision. You’ll also prep ingredients and decorations ahead of time to streamline the decorating process and reduce downtime. You’ll photograph your finished work and help showcase it on our social media or website portfolio. You’ll contribute to seasonal collections, new menu items, and display concepts that reflect current trends and customer tastes.

Basic Qualifications:

• Work with precision—even when the detail work takes patience and a steady hand.
• Help train junior decorators or assistants in techniques, standards, and safe handling.
• Ensure all decorated items meet visual, structural, and taste quality standards before display or delivery.
• Replicate existing designs or create original ones based on client briefs or seasonal trends.
• Photograph finished products for portfolio, social media, or marketing use.

Preferred:

• Understands how to price decoration work appropriately based on detail, size, and time.
• Wants to grow into roles like Lead Cake Decorator, Bakery Owner, or Pastry Chef.
• Willing to assist in general bakery tasks like mixing, baking, or packaging when decoration tasks are complete.
• Familiar with various icing types such as buttercream, royal icing, ganache, and fondant for different styles and textures.
• Thrives in creative, detail-focused environments where quality and visual appeal matter.
