Description:
We’re hiring a Cook who enjoys working in a small, close-knit kitchen — someone who’s flexible, friendly, and takes pride in turning simple ingredients into great meals. You’ll prepare meals from scratch or finish prep with precision, depending on the day’s flow and menu needs. You’ll manage a variety of tasks — from flipping eggs and grilling sandwiches to prepping sauces and slicing produce. You’ll follow recipes and portion guides closely to ensure every plate meets quality and presentation standards. You’ll maintain a clean and organized station, following food safety standards and hygiene practices with discipline. You’ll learn how to handle knives safely, follow recipes closely, and understand timing in a working kitchen. Some days might be fast-paced and hectic, but that’s where teamwork matters most. You’ll help with morning prep or evening close-down depending on your shift, and take responsibility for your tools and space. You’ll be expected to follow hygiene rules, wear proper kitchen gear, and keep safety front of mind.
Basic Qualifications:
- Label and date all prepped items and store them correctly in fridges or dry storage.
- Be punctual and reliable—your presence is essential to the kitchen running smoothly.
- Train junior kitchen staff or dishwashers in prep, cleaning, or basic cooking tasks.
- Prepare meals according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Accept feedback from head chefs or supervisors and apply it constructively.
Preferred:
- Wants to grow into roles like Line Cook, Sous Chef, or Head Chef.
- Able to clean and maintain kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment after service.
- Follows safety rules to prevent cross-contamination, burns, or accidents in the kitchen.
- Open to early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts as needed.
- Background or interest in culinary arts, hospitality, or food service.
