Description:

We’re seeking a skilled Translation Specialist to help deliver accurate, high-quality translations for a variety of content. You’ll be responsible for translating written documents, audio, and video content from one language to another, ensuring meaning is preserved. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ensure all translations meet client requirements and are aligned with their brand voice. You’ll assist with localizing content, ensuring it is culturally appropriate for target audiences while keeping the original meaning intact. You’ll ensure that your translations are clear, concise, and free of errors, making them suitable for the target audience. You’ll ensure all translated content is properly formatted, taking into account industry-specific terminology and client preferences. You’ll work with various languages and specialties, including legal, medical, and technical documents, providing expert knowledge where needed. You’ll be responsible for managing multiple translation projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet client expectations.

Basic Qualifications:

• Deliver translations in the required formats (Word, Excel, HTML, SRT, etc.) while preserving layout and structure.
• Adapt language and tone to suit the target audience—what works in English might need cultural tweaking elsewhere.
• Stay updated on language trends, regional usage, or spelling differences (e.g., US vs UK English, formal vs informal Spanish).
• Use CAT tools (e.g., SDL Trados, memoQ, Smartcat) or translation memory systems to improve efficiency and maintain terminology.
• Ultimately, act as a language bridge—making sure that meaning travels across borders without getting lost in translation.

Preferred:

• Has translated for clients, agencies, or personal projects with a clear process.
• Familiar with CAT tools like SDL Trados, Smartcat, or Memsource is a plus.
• Wants to grow into roles like Localization Specialist, Editor, or Project Manager.
• Can adapt translation style depending on content type — legal, medical, technical, or marketing.
• Comfortable researching industry-specific terms to ensure accuracy and clarity.
