Description:

We’re hiring a Seamstress Trainee to support garment production in our sewing factory — perfect for someone who enjoys repetition, structure, and building real technical skill in a team setting. You’ll begin by learning how to handle delicate fabrics like chiffon, satin, lace, and tulle with precision and care. You’ll assist in sewing specific garment sections such as sleeves, pockets, collars, or waistbands depending on your station. You’ll be trained to operate industrial machines — from straight stitch and overlock to coverstitch and buttonhole machines. You’ll learn how to reinforce seams, add hidden snaps or Velcro for stage changes, and hem garments to suit choreography or blocking. You’ll support the costume build process from sketches and concept art to final fittings and show-ready garments. You’ll assist in checking clothing for damage upon intake and tagging special instructions for custom requests. You’ll be taught to estimate turnaround times and prioritize urgent items like uniforms, suits, or event outfits. You’ll be taught how to hand-finish hems, add invisible zippers, and work with multi-layered skirts without damaging inner linings.

Basic Qualifications:

• Consult on fabric choice, style, or custom modifications when asked for input.
• Perform fittings and make necessary adjustments based on client feedback and fabric behavior.
• Keep scraps and materials organized for future reuse or patching work.
• Handle delicate or high-value garments with extra attention and discretion.
• Maintain a respectful, collaborative attitude when working in shared studios or tailoring shops.
