We’re hiring a Baker Trainee to join our high-volume production bakery — perfect for someone who’s punctual, process-focused, and ready to learn how large-scale baking works behind the scenes. You’ll begin by learning how to work on the production line, helping prepare thousands of baked goods daily with consistency and speed. You’ll assist in mixing doughs, folding batters, and learning how different ingredients behave under heat and time. You’ll help portion and shape doughs, scoop batter into tins, and prep items for the oven with speed and accuracy. You’ll help prep and bake items like vegan muffins, gluten-free cookies, banana bread, or allergen-free sandwich loaves. You’ll support early-morning prep, helping ensure fresh items are ready for opening by the time doors unlock. You’ll assist with decorating pastries and arranging baked goods in the display case in an appealing, inviting way. You’ll assist in cleaning and sanitizing all work zones according to strict hygiene and food safety regulations. You’ll be taught how to wrap, store, and present baked goods for the front counter or delivery.
Basic Qualifications:
- Log batches, waste, or recipe notes for future reference or quality tracking.
- Work early mornings or overnight shifts to ensure goods are ready for opening hours.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning mixers, ovens, and utensils regularly and reporting any malfunctions.
- Prepare a variety of baked goods such as breads, pastries, cookies, and cakes according to recipes.
- Comply with allergen labeling and handle cross-contamination risks carefully.
Preferred:
- Comfortable handling both sweet and savory baked items across various product categories.
- Organized with keeping workstations tidy, documenting production logs, and minimizing waste.
- Team-oriented and able to collaborate with pastry chefs, decorators, or kitchen staff.
- Comfortable maintaining cleanliness, following food safety regulations, and using protective equipment.
- Knowledge of dough handling, fermentation, shaping, scoring, and baking techniques for different types of products.
