Description:

We’re looking for a motivated Junior Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to building robust backend services and APIs. You’ll work with experienced developers to build backend infrastructure that ensures smooth communication between servers, databases, and clients. You’ll assist with building RESTful APIs, managing data flow, and integrating backend services with frontend applications. js, Python, or Ruby on Rails. You’ll assist in managing databases, ensuring data is stored securely and efficiently, and supporting scalable solutions. You’ll assist in creating and maintaining RESTful APIs that power web applications, ensuring smooth communication with the frontend. You’ll be responsible for building and optimizing RESTful APIs to support new features and services. You’ll participate in optimizing the backend for speed and scalability, addressing performance issues as they arise. You’ll collaborate with other developers, participating in code reviews and pair programming to improve your skills.

Basic Qualifications:

• Write and update technical documentation that helps future developers (and yourself) understand how and why the backend works.
• Keep your local environment organized—env files, seed scripts, API docs—all make onboarding easier for others.
• Be a team player, stay curious, and contribute consistently—you’re here to learn, improve, and build real things that work.
• Assist with setting up and maintaining dev environments, local servers, and containerized systems like Docker.
• Contribute to database migrations, schema updates, and data seeding for staging and production environments.

Preferred:

• Able to connect frontend applications with backend services for full-stack functionality.
• Can deploy simple apps to services like Render, Vercel, Heroku, or Railway.
• Proficient in at least one backend language such as Node.js, Python, Java, or PHP.
• Familiar with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and how to write simple SQL queries.
• Curious about performance, scalability, and how to write efficient queries or endpoints.
