Description:

We’re looking for a Clinical Psychologist Trainee who’s ready to quietly observe, deeply listen, and learn how healing happens one session at a time — no experience needed, just maturity, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility. You’ll assist licensed psychologists with case preparation, session planning, and the daily structure of therapeutic work. We’ll teach you how to handle sensitive client data, organize psychological assessments, and recognize patterns in client behavior. You’ll shadow therapy sessions (when appropriate), take observational notes, and participate in post-session discussions. Expect to be involved in both individual and group therapy contexts, depending on your supervisor and placement. We’ll walk you through how psychologists conduct assessments, build treatment plans, and set therapeutic goals. We’ll guide you in understanding how therapy is structured — from intake interviews to session planning and progress tracking. We’ll teach you how to recognize signs of trauma, dissociation, or defense mechanisms — and respond appropriately within your trainee scope. You’ll also learn how psychologists maintain boundaries, manage ethical dilemmas, and care for themselves while caring for others.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Design workshops or support groups when appropriate for broader therapeutic outreach.
  • Supervise interns or junior clinicians if licensed and experienced.
  • Advocate for mental health awareness and destigmatization in your practice or institution.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices.
  • Respect cultural, gender, and socioeconomic differences in every aspect of your clinical work.

Preferred:

  • Values compassion, evidence-based care, and long-term client outcomes.
  • Enjoys helping individuals build insight, emotional regulation, and resilience.
  • Comfortable working in clinical, educational, hospital, or private practice settings.
  • Capable of handling emotional intensity and crisis situations with calm and clinical judgment.
  • Willing to coordinate with psychiatrists, social workers, or primary care providers as part of a care team.

Benefits:

  • You’re not just seeing clients — you're shaping lives and systems.
  • Work in a space where empathy is valued as much as expertise.
  • Regular supervision sessions — because even experts need a sounding board.
  • You won’t be buried in paperwork — streamlined systems let you focus on people.
  • You’ll be reminded often: the work you do truly matters.

We’ll guide you in managing emotional regulation, transference, and your own reactions while in a clinical environment. You’ll learn about boundaries, burnout prevention, and how to take care of your own emotional health as a future clinician. This role is ideal for someone who is thoughtful, ethical, and willing to grow through both study and experience. You’ll gain insight into diverse mental health conditions, social factors, and treatment environments. We’ll support your professional growth with supervision, guided readings, and real conversations about clinical work. By the end of your traineeship, you’ll understand the foundations of clinical psychology and how psychologists support healing and change. You’ll have a stronger sense of what it means to be a psychologist — and what’s required to become one. If you’re ready to learn how healing happens through empathy, method, and time — this is where it starts.
