Description:

We’re looking for Paramedic Dispatcher Trainees who may not have experience, but have the heart to help and the voice to stay calm. You don’t need a background in emergency work — just a willingness to listen, learn, and grow step by step. We’ll start by teaching you the basics: how to answer calls, what questions to ask, and how to follow clear protocols. We’ll train you on how to quickly gather details, code the situation correctly, and deploy medical units without delay. We know the first calls can feel scary — that’s why you’ll practice in a safe, patient environment until you feel ready. You’ll hear fear, pain, confusion — but your calm tone will be the first sign that help is coming. You’ll learn to recognize signs of burnout, how to take mental breaks, and how to separate the urgency of a call from your personal peace. You’ll also be taught how to manage your energy, take breaks when needed, and work in a rhythm that protects your well-being. You’ll receive ongoing guidance from experienced dispatchers who know how to spot patterns and make fast, smart decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

• Take pride in being the silent but vital link between emergencies and lifesaving care.
• Support paramedics with info like access codes, hazards, or language barriers.
• Balance multiple incoming calls, updates, and dispatch instructions simultaneously.
• Monitor field unit statuses to ensure timely arrival and patient transport.
• Stay calm when dealing with traumatic or chaotic situations over the phone.

Preferred:

• Works well as part of a response team and communicates clearly during handovers or transitions.
• Comfortable using multi-line phones, headsets, and real-time data systems.
• Capable of staying calm, focused, and empathetic under high-stress or life-threatening situations.
• Able to follow strict protocols while using judgment when calls fall outside standard situations.
• Committed to continuous performance review and improving response efficiency.
