Description:
We’re looking for a Cook who can handle the heat — someone who moves fast, stays sharp, and turns ingredients into comfort, flavor, and consistency every shift. You’ll be responsible for prepping and cooking dishes to spec, whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner, or anything in between. You’ll work alongside a kitchen team, communicating clearly and keeping the pace steady during slow hours and busy rushes alike. You’ll handle grills, ovens, fryers, or pans confidently, making sure every order is cooked just right and delivered on time. You’ll rotate stock, label ingredients, and track freshness to keep the kitchen running safely and efficiently. You’ll check temperatures, label and store items properly, and reduce waste by prepping smart and portioning correctly. You’ll keep cool under pressure and stay focused even when tickets pile up — because the plate always comes first. We’ll teach you how to set up a clean, organized station and how to break it down at the end of your shift. You’ll be expected to follow hygiene rules, wear proper kitchen gear, and keep safety front of mind.
Basic Qualifications:
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment before each shift.
- Assist in prepping ingredients for upcoming shifts or special events when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including sanitizing surfaces and tools.
- Ensure food is cooked safely, thoroughly, and consistently in both taste and appearance.
- Monitor inventory levels and inform supervisors when ingredients or supplies are running low.
Preferred:
- Open to early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts as needed.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment under pressure during busy hours.
- Able to prepare ingredients, cook dishes to order, and plate food consistently and attractively.
- Values precision, consistency, and passion in cooking for others.
- Comfortable multitasking across prep, cooking, and cleanup responsibilities.
Benefits:
- Mental health support — no toxic “tough it out” culture.
- Opportunities to learn new cuisines, plating techniques, and kitchen tools.
- Flexible shifts — mornings, evenings, weekends — you choose.
- Staff discounts so you can bring your friends and show off your food.
- Your kitchen = your zone — we keep things safe, clean, and running smoothly.
You’ll help open or close the kitchen depending on your shift — wiping down, counting stock, and leaving things ready for the next cook. You’ll keep food safety top of mind, from fridge temps to glove use, even when things get busy. You’ll learn the full menu, memorize plating standards, and ask questions when something isn’t clear — because quality starts with clarity. You’ll represent the heart of the cafe — where everything starts with good prep and ends with a satisfied guest. This role is ideal for someone who wants to master their craft, work hard, and be a reliable part of a strong kitchen team. We value cooks who are consistent, self-aware, and care more about results than recognition. Whether you’re prepping breakfast, plating dinner, or handling bulk prep, your work will always matter here. Let’s make honest food, run a clean kitchen, and serve every guest like they’re part of the neighborhood.
