We’re hiring a Journalist / Copywriter Trainee to help us report real stories — no experience needed, just curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to writing with truth and clarity. You’ll assist in writing newsletters, product updates, and value-packed emails that don’t sound robotic or salesy. We’ll teach you how to structure an email: subject lines, hooks, body, and clear CTAs that actually get clicked. You’ll learn to go beyond prompting: shaping voice, fact-checking, correcting tone, and making sure the final text actually sounds like a human. Expect to rewrite confusing labels, break long instructions into steps, and add warmth or clarity to default system messages. We’ll guide you on how to separate fact from opinion, check sources, and avoid assumptions — the foundations of ethical reporting. We’ll guide you in using AI as a creative partner — not a shortcut — and teach you how to preserve quality while speeding up production. You’ll help write articles, product stories, bios, content for social media, and even brand manifestos. We’ll teach you how to work with briefs, deadlines, and feedback — and how to revise fast without losing your voice.

Basic Qualifications:

• Turn complex subjects into content that feels accessible, interesting, and human.
• Write headlines, subject lines, and social copy that grab attention without being clickbait.
• Collaborate with editors, designers, and marketers to align content with visual and strategic goals.
• Meet deadlines reliably while maintaining high standards for accuracy and originality.
• Balance creative freedom with messaging goals, timelines, and legal requirements.

Preferred:

• Knows how to write calls to action, summaries, and structured intros that hook readers.
• Understands the basics of audience targeting and messaging strategy.
• Comfortable using Grammarly, Hemingway, or similar tools to refine drafts.
• Wants to grow into roles like Senior Copywriter, Content Editor, or Investigative Journalist.
• Can adjust copy length and style depending on format: short captions, long-form features, or microcopy.
