Description:
We’re hiring a creative and skilled Podcast Editor to join our team and help deliver engaging and polished audio content. You’ll be responsible for editing podcast episodes, ensuring clarity, balance, and overall high production standards. You’ll collaborate with podcast hosts and producers to ensure that the final product matches the desired tone and flow of each episode. You’ll work with raw audio files to eliminate background noise, adjust volumes, and correct any technical issues. You’ll ensure each episode is engaging and polished, adding music, sound effects, and transitions to improve the listening experience. You’ll ensure that all podcast episodes are well-paced, removing filler words and unnecessary segments to keep the content flowing. You’ll manage editing schedules, ensuring episodes are delivered on time and meet the required quality standards. You’ll assist in creating promotional snippets, teasers, or audiograms to promote episodes across social media and other platforms.
Basic Qualifications:
- Add intro/outro music, sponsor reads, transitions, and sound effects as needed to enhance the listening experience.
- Collaborate asynchronously with remote teams, using tools like Google Drive, Trello, Notion, or Slack to track progress and notes.
- Stay aligned with the brand’s tone and editorial vision—whether it’s casual and conversational or polished and journalistic.
- Provide feedback on recording quality and offer tips to improve future audio (mic technique, room setup, etc.).
- Create audiograms, teaser clips, or social media snippets from full episodes using tools like Headliner, Descript, or Adobe Audition.
Preferred:
- Comfortable editing for flow, removing filler words, long pauses, or background noise.
- Familiar with editing different podcast formats such as interviews, solo episodes, roundtables, or storytelling.
- Background or interest in audio production, storytelling, radio, or media.
- Pays attention to detail in removing unintentional mistakes, repetitions, or off-topic content.
- Capable of handling fast turnarounds when needed without sacrificing quality.
Benefits:
- Access to premium tools like Adobe Audition, Descript, Reaper, Hindenburg, and licensed music/SFX libraries.
- We celebrate seamless edits, smart pacing, and transitions you can’t even hear.
- You’ll collaborate with producers, writers, and sometimes the hosts themselves.
- If you love dialogue edits, EQ curves, and the sound of a perfect crossfade — this is your dream role.
- Your contribution turns good content into a show worth subscribing to.
You’ll manage and organize raw audio files, making sure they are properly archived and easy to access for future edits or repurposing. You’ll take feedback from podcast hosts and producers to make any necessary changes, ensuring the final edit is exactly what they envision. You’ll ensure that each episode aligns with brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in tone and sound quality throughout the series. You’ll stay up-to-date with industry trends, podcasting software, and new editing techniques to keep improving your skills and the podcast’s quality. You’ll ensure that all audio files are delivered on time, helping the team maintain a consistent release schedule for the podcast. You’ll ensure all episodes are uploaded, including proper tagging, descriptions, and metadata for search optimization. This remote role provides flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to the success of an exciting podcast. If you’re passionate about podcasting, audio editing, and storytelling, we’d love to have you join our team and help us create amazing content.
