Description:
We’re seeking a Freelance Resume Writer who can turn dull job descriptions into compelling success stories. You know that a resume is more than a document — it’s a first impression that can change someone’s life. You’ll work directly with clients to understand their experience, strengths, and goals. We’re looking for someone who can take raw career info and build a narrative that’s clear, confident, and credible. You know how to write for both humans and algorithms, balancing clarity with ATS-optimized formatting. Whether it’s an entry-level graduate or a seasoned executive, you’ll know how to make their strengths shine. You’ll edit ruthlessly, format cleanly, and write with both recruiters and ATS in mind. Tone, voice, and clarity matter — and you know how to adjust them to fit each client’s personality and target role. We’re looking for someone who can balance multiple projects while maintaining quality and consistency.
Basic Qualifications:
- Optimize resumes for applicant tracking systems (ATS) by using relevant keywords, formatting, and structure best practices.
- Offer packages or upsells (e.g., resume + LinkedIn bundle) to support clients beyond just one document.
- Gather information through intake forms, Zoom calls, or written notes to deeply understand each client’s career story.
- Provide value beyond writing—sometimes clients just need encouragement, structure, or clarity.
- Educate clients gently when myths arise (“I heard resumes must be one page” or “Should I list every job since 2004?”).
Preferred:
- Background or interest in HR, recruiting, career coaching, or communications.
- Knows how to write resumes for freelancers, career changers, and recent graduates.
- Experience formatting resumes for both creative and corporate industries.
- Open to feedback from clients and able to revise drafts collaboratively.
- Keeps up with hiring trends, resume best practices, and evolving job market needs.
Benefits:
- Flexible workload — take on more when you’re free, less when you’re swamped.
- Every client has a story — you help them tell it with clarity and confidence.
- Join a community of writers who share tips, wins, and font opinions.
- Get access to resume tools, keyword analyzers, and industry guides.
- We pay promptly, clearly, and with appreciation — no chasing invoices.
Your writing will reflect the client’s tone — assertive, approachable, technical, or somewhere in between. Deadlines are flexible, but you’re someone who still delivers on time — and takes pride in quality work. You enjoy writing, but also coaching — helping people see their career from a stronger perspective. You’re someone who understands what hiring managers want to see — and more importantly, what they don’t. You’ll use your research skills to tailor resumes for specific industries or positions when needed. We value clear communication, timely delivery, and care in every word — because our clients notice the difference. This role is ideal for someone who loves empowering others and isn’t afraid to ask smart questions. If you believe words can open doors — and have the skills to prove it — we’d love to hear from you.
