Description:

We’re looking for a dedicated and accurate Transcriptionist to join our remote team and provide high-quality transcription services. You’ll be responsible for transcribing various types of audio and video files, including interviews, webinars, podcasts, and meetings. You’ll work with a variety of file formats, using transcription software to enhance your workflow while ensuring high-quality output. You’ll work with a range of file formats, ensuring each transcription meets the client’s specific requirements and expectations. You’ll proofread and edit transcriptions to eliminate any errors, ensuring the final product is polished and precise. You’ll manage your time efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality in your work. You’ll be expected to work independently and handle confidential information with care, adhering to confidentiality guidelines. You’ll be adept at transcribing both clean audio and challenging audio, including varied accents and technical jargon.

Basic Qualifications:

• Mark unclear audio with timestamps or tags (e.g., [inaudible], [crosstalk]) and follow up when clarification is needed.
• Format transcripts according to specific guidelines—verbatim, clean read, time-coded, speaker-labeled, etc.
• Meet deadlines reliably, managing multiple transcription projects without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
• Communicate professionally with clients to confirm instructions, request extensions, or clarify unclear parts of recordings.
• Identify speakers in multi-person recordings and label dialogue clearly, even in fast-paced or overlapping conversations.

Preferred:

• Comfortable working independently in a remote, deadline-driven environment.
• Uses transcription shortcuts, foot pedals, or playback tools to enhance efficiency.
• Comfortable working with audio that includes accents, background noise, or technical terminology.
• Comfortable working with different types of content — interviews, podcasts, legal, medical, or academic.
• Wants to grow into roles like QA Transcription Reviewer, Caption Editor, or Documentation Specialist.
