Description:
We’re hiring a Shoe Repair Specialist who specializes in athletic and casual footwear — perfect for someone who understands the mechanics of sneakers, active shoes, and performance wear. You’ll work hands-on with leather, rubber, fabric, and synthetic materials to repair, reinforce, and reshape shoes of all styles. You’ll assist in performing minor repairs such as heel tips, sole reinforcement, polishing, and basic stitching at the client’s location. You’ll assist in custom sole work for running shoes, walking shoes, and orthopedic models to improve balance and wear patterns. You’ll offer fast services like lace replacements, heel guard installations, and weatherproof treatments in under 30 minutes. You’ll help log repairs via tablet, issue digital receipts, and track pick-up/drop-off details through the mobile dispatch system. You’ll be expected to care for a variety of materials including leather, rubber, suede, and synthetic blends. You’ll document repairs, log materials used, and track turnaround time for client orders and repeat customers. You’ll rotate between active repair work, customer service, and basic sales of shoe care products and accessories.
Basic Qualifications:
- Repair and restore footwear by replacing soles, heels, zippers, and worn-out parts using specialized tools.
- Polish, condition, and clean leather or suede shoes to improve appearance and prolong lifespan.
- Order and restock supplies like soles, nails, glue, thread, and polish as needed.
- Diagnose shoe damage and provide customers with clear repair options and price estimates.
- Customize insoles or inserts for orthopedic needs or comfort improvements.
Preferred:
- Understands how to match replacement parts like soles, laces, and eyelets to maintain the original shoe design.
- Organized with tracking repair orders, turnaround times, and inventory of supplies such as glue, soles, and stitching thread.
- Willing to handle handbag, belt, or leather accessory repairs if required by the shop.
- Wants to grow into roles like Head Cobbler, Workshop Owner, or Artisan Footwear Designer.
- Willing to maintain a tidy, professional workspace and uphold safety standards.
Benefits:
- Paid training and professional development — learn new techniques and styles to stay ahead of trends.
- A job that celebrates craftsmanship — you’re not just fixing shoes, you’re preserving art.
- Recognition for your craftsmanship — each pair of shoes is a testament to your skill.
- You’ll be appreciated for your work — a good repair job doesn’t go unnoticed.
- Health, dental, and retirement benefits — we value your well-being just as much as your work.
You’ll be expected to maintain a tidy workstation, care for your tools, and follow daily maintenance routines. You’ll interact with clients who care about both function and fashion — especially sneaker collectors and everyday wearers. You’ll be trained to spot repairs that require workshop-level tools and help coordinate timely transport when needed. You’ll rotate between stitching, finishing, cleaning, and front-of-house duties for a well-rounded workshop experience. You’ll be mentored by senior cobblers who will teach you both the technical and customer-service sides of mobile craftsmanship. No experience required — just a love for sneakers, respect for movement, and good hands for the job. No prior experience is needed — just a willingness to work with your hands, stay focused, and provide great service on the spot. If you’re ready to handle shoes worth thousands with hands that treat them like art, we’re ready to teach you the craft behind the luxury.
