Description:

We’re hiring a Caregiver to support children with special needs — ideal for someone who’s patient, encouraging, and passionate about helping young people grow in their own unique way. You’ll assist with personal care routines such as bathing, changing, repositioning, and mouth care with gentleness and dignity. You’ll help with evening routines such as changing into sleepwear, medication reminders, and settling into bed peacefully. You’ll stay alert throughout the night, ready to respond to calls, movement, or signs of discomfort. You’ll help with walking, transferring from bed or chair, and using walkers or canes safely around the home. You’ll be trained to recognize signs of pain, restlessness, or decline and respond promptly with grace and alertness. You’ll provide steady companionship through listening, reminiscing, watching TV together, or reading aloud. You’ll rotate shifts that include quiet overnight presence, daytime care, or support during family visitation hours. You’ll support families by offering updates, reassurance, or simply relieving them for a few hours of rest.

Basic Qualifications:

• Adapt to different personalities, medical conditions, and family dynamics with patience.
• Ensure a safe living environment by preventing falls, hazards, or medication mismanagement.
• Stay informed on best practices in caregiving, dementia support, or special needs assistance.
• Provide companionship through conversation, games, walks, or simply being present.
• Monitor and report changes in physical or emotional condition to family or medical staff.

Preferred:

• Enjoys building trust and improving the quality of life for those in need of care.
• Wants to grow into roles like Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide, or Care Coordinator.
• Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, or 24-hour care rotations.
• Comfortable using home care documentation tools or apps for shift updates and reporting.
• Able to assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while respecting the dignity and privacy of clients.
