Description:

We’re offering a hands-on trainee position for someone who dreams of becoming a compassionate and capable elementary school teacher. You’ll start each day with a smile, helping set up the classroom so it’s calm, clean, and ready for learning. You’ll greet students, learn their names, and slowly become a familiar, trusted face they look forward to seeing. You’ll help manage classroom routines, maintain structure, and gently guide students in their behavior and focus. You’ll help guide classroom behavior using patience, fairness, and consistent expectations. You’ll read stories aloud, guide art projects, check math worksheets, and listen patiently to countless important stories from 6-year-olds. You’ll learn the importance of routines, classroom boundaries, and how consistency builds trust with students. You’ll join in morning meetings, recess duty, and class projects — helping students feel seen, heard, and supported. You’ll prepare materials, tidy learning centers, and contribute to decorating the classroom with student work.

Basic Qualifications:

• Help students navigate conflicts, build friendships, and learn emotional self-regulation.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across core subjects like math, reading, science, and social studies.
• Tailor support for students with special needs or learning accommodations, working closely with specialists when needed.
• Be the kind of teacher they’ll remember not just for what you taught, but how you made them feel.
• Support classroom cleanliness, safety, and organization daily.

Preferred:

• Open to attending parent-teacher conferences, school events, and ongoing professional development workshops.
• Willing to supervise recess, lunch, field trips, and extracurricular activities as needed.
• Values patience, consistency, and enthusiasm in the learning environment.
• Comfortable incorporating arts, music, movement, and play into the daily routine.
• Familiar with educational tools such as Google Classroom, Seesaw, SMART Boards, or interactive whiteboards.
