Description:

We’re looking for an experienced Discord Moderator to join our team and help manage our growing online community. You’ll be responsible for monitoring chat activity, ensuring users are following the community guidelines and fostering healthy discussions. You’ll help resolve conflicts, mediate disputes, and ensure that members feel comfortable engaging within the community. You’ll help organize and moderate events such as discussions, Q&As, and community activities, keeping the server active and engaging. You’ll monitor chat activity to ensure that conversations stay on-topic and that members are following the community guidelines. You’ll assist in creating and enforcing server rules and guidelines to ensure a safe space for all members. You’ll manage spam, bots, and disruptive content, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. You’ll engage with members, answer questions, and offer assistance to ensure that all users feel heard and valued.

Basic Qualifications:

• Use discretion when handling sensitive situations—don’t overshare bans, DMs, or user reports with the public.
• Avoid power-tripping or playing favorites—moderation is about fairness, not ego.
• Keep an eye on voice channels, emojis, and media sharing to ensure appropriate content is being used and shared.
• Contribute to moderation documentation or SOPs so new mods can learn best practices quickly.
• Help test new bots, features, or server changes before they’re rolled out to the whole community.

Preferred:

• Pays attention to how others interact and knows when to step in or stay neutral.
• Understands the importance of safety and mental well-being in online environments.
• Comfortable volunteering a few hours per week and being consistent with availability.
• Familiar with Discord and actively participates in servers as a community member.
• Background or interest in online communities, gaming, education, or fan spaces.
