Description:

We’re hiring a Translator Trainee to help with subtitles and video content — no experience required, just good listening skills, language precision, and an eye for timing. No prior experience is necessary — just a love for languages, an eye for detail, and a willingness to learn fast. You’ll assist in translating everything from app screens to website banners, working closely with senior translators. You’ll learn the difference between transcription, translation, and localization — and how to adapt meaning for different audiences. ” Expect to translate UI copy, adapt tone for different markets, and avoid wordy phrasing that breaks layouts. We’ll show you how to handle placeholders, gender-neutral terms, plural logic, and platform-specific constraints. You’ll get hands-on experience with real projects, adapting content for cultural relevance and user context. Mistakes are part of the learning process — we’ll help you spot them and understand how to refine your work. You’ll gain editing skills by comparing source and target versions side by side and spotting gaps in meaning or tone.

Basic Qualifications:

• Follow client or brand guidelines to ensure translations align with tone and voice.
• Meet deadlines, even when juggling multiple assignments with different priorities.
• Collaborate with editors, clients, or subject matter experts to resolve unclear or technical phrases.
• Deliver polished translations, not first drafts—every word should feel intentional.
• Use CAT tools (like SDL Trados, MemoQ, or Smartcat) to streamline work and manage glossaries.

Preferred:

• Experience translating written documents such as articles, manuals, subtitles, or websites.
• Can handle confidential or sensitive materials with discretion and professionalism.
• Willing to take translation tests or complete sample assignments for quality assessment.
• Background or interest in linguistics, foreign languages, international relations, or content localization.
• Familiar with localization processes and adapting content for different markets or regions.
