Description:
We’re looking for a Nanny Trainee who genuinely enjoys spending time with children and is eager to learn how to support their development in a safe, nurturing environment. You’ll assist the primary caregiver in managing daily routines that vary by age — from toddler naps to school pick-ups. You’ll be taught how to soothe fussiness, read nonverbal cues, and comfort babies during teething or tummy troubles. You’ll assist in organizing indoor and outdoor play activities that are both fun and age-appropriate. You’ll assist with homework for older kids while keeping younger siblings safely entertained nearby. You’ll be trained on how to respond to tantrums, separation anxiety, and sibling disagreements with patience and structure. You’ll help prepare snacks or simple meals, and learn how to accommodate allergies or special dietary needs. You’ll be responsible for tidying play areas, cleaning up after activities, and helping maintain an organized environment. You’ll learn how to create calm in a high-energy environment and help kids transition between activities without chaos.
Basic Qualifications:
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the family’s privacy and parenting style at all times.
- Accompany children to and from school, extracurriculars, or playdates as needed.
- Adapt to the needs of each child, recognizing different temperaments and learning styles.
- Offer a consistent, comforting presence that children can rely on day after day.
- Provide attentive, warm, and consistent care for children in a home environment.
Preferred:
- Respects family values, parenting style, and household rules while offering support and structure.
- Willing to accompany children to parks, libraries, playdates, or appointments safely and responsibly.
- Pays attention to emotional well-being and uses positive discipline methods when necessary.
- Willing to assist with homework, school pickups/drop-offs, or extracurricular schedules as needed.
- Comfortable preparing nutritious meals and snacks based on the child’s dietary needs or parental guidelines.
Benefits:
- You’ll get smiles, hugs, and the satisfaction of making a real difference every day.
- We recognize emotional labor — and we truly appreciate it.
- Sick days with no guilt — your health comes first.
- Respectful family environment — communication is kind, clear, and consistent.
- You’ll never be “just the nanny” — you’re a key part of a child’s life.
You’ll be taught how to observe and report any signs of illness, discomfort, or behavioral changes. You’ll develop a basic understanding of first aid, child safety, and what to do in emergency situations. You’ll work closely with the parents, providing daily updates and adjusting based on each child’s needs and preferences. You’ll grow in your confidence week by week, gradually taking more initiative while staying alert and attentive. You’ll learn emergency procedures and basic first aid protocols so you can respond calmly if needed. We value kindness, reliability, and emotional intelligence more than formal credentials or past experience. This internship is perfect for anyone considering a career in childcare, early childhood education, or family services. If you’re warm, responsible, and ready to grow into a trusted caregiver, we’d love to support your journey.
