Description:

We’re hiring a Journalist / Copywriter Trainee to help us report real stories — no experience needed, just curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to writing with truth and clarity. You’ll work closely with editors and content leads to craft articles, interviews, newsletters, and microcopy for real audiences. We’ll teach you how to brief an AI properly, improve its outputs, and know when to rewrite, restructure, or cut entirely. You’ll work closely with designers, product managers, and developers to craft clear, intentional text across interfaces. Expect to help with field notes, email interviews, transcription, and shaping human voices into readable, respectful narratives. You’ll get familiar with Notion, Google Docs, MailerLite or Brevo, and tools like Grammarly or Hemingway for clarity and tone. We’ll show you how to write for real people — with clarity, flow, and zero fluff — whether it’s a 100-word promo or a 1,000-word how-to. You’ll help repurpose blog content into shorter tips for email or social, learning how to adapt long to short and back again. We’ll show you how to edit for balance, tone, flow, and how to cut fluff while keeping the core human.

Basic Qualifications:

• Write fast without sacrificing clarity or craft when news or deadlines demand it.
• Be ready to adjust or rewrite pieces based on feedback, metrics, or shifting priorities.
• Pitch story ideas that feel fresh, relevant, and aligned with brand or publication direction.
• Track content performance and suggest improvements based on real results.
• Proofread everything—twice—before it goes live or to print.

Preferred:

• Can adapt brand tone and voice consistently across all written content.
• Can meet deadlines in fast-paced environments while juggling multiple assignments.
• Organized in managing content calendars, drafts, feedback, and final delivery timelines.
• Able to transform complex topics into clear, engaging narratives that inform or persuade.
• Enjoys researching, storytelling, and shaping opinions or behaviors through writing.
