Description:

We’re hiring a Mail Carrier Trainee for our urban bicycle delivery team — perfect for someone who enjoys movement, independence, and getting mail where it needs to go quickly. You’ll begin by shadowing experienced carriers on walking, driving, or biking routes, observing how deliveries are organized and prioritized. You’ll be trained to load your delivery bag properly, keeping packages protected and organizing mail by building and floor. You’ll assist in delivering letters, postcards, and small parcels directly to mailrooms, drop boxes, or front doors. You’ll learn how to scan deliveries, get electronic signatures, and mark successful drop-offs using a handheld device. You’ll be taught how to safely approach homes, manage gated entries, and handle mailboxes of all types. You’ll be shown how to deliver in various weather conditions — from summer heat to muddy back roads or snowy driveways. You’ll help collect outgoing mail from rural homes, pickup boxes, or roadside stands as part of your route. You’ll be taught how to scan barcodes, confirm delivery with timestamps, and leave notices for missed packages or pickups.

Basic Qualifications:

• Take pride in connecting people and businesses through reliable, day-to-day service.
• Keep your delivery vehicle clean, fueled, and stocked with supplies like forms and mailbags.
• Stay on schedule even during peak mail seasons like holidays or special campaigns.
• Communicate any delays, missed deliveries, or issues with dispatch or supervisors.
• Ensure mail is delivered to the correct address with attention to names, unit numbers, and instructions.

Preferred:

• Background or interest in logistics, delivery, or postal services.
• Follows mail security protocols, ensuring privacy and safety of all mail and packages handled.
• Experience handling physical deliveries, either on foot, by bicycle, or by vehicle, in residential or commercial areas.
• Capable of managing a fast-paced workload independently while meeting strict time deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record if operating a delivery vehicle is required.
