Description:

We’re hiring a Locksmith to specialize in upgrading traditional locks to smart systems — perfect for someone who’s tech-friendly, customer-focused, and excited about modern security solutions. You’ll install smart locks, keypads, fingerprint scanners, and mobile-controlled entry systems for homes, apartments, and businesses. You’ll install high-security deadbolts, keyless entry systems, panic bars, closers, and master key systems across a variety of commercial sites. You’ll assist with creating and maintaining master key hierarchies, issuing access levels by department or personnel. You’ll use mechanical and electronic tools to diagnose issues, drill locks when necessary, and replace damaged components. You’ll be trained in managing digital locks, keypad systems, RFID access, and integration with alarm or fire exit systems. You’ll work with brands like August, Schlage, Yale, and commercial access control platforms depending on the job. You’ll log each visit, record work done, track parts used, and issue invoices or payment receipts onsite. You’ll work closely with law enforcement, property managers, or emergency services during sensitive or high-risk calls.

Basic Qualifications:

• Stay up to date with advances in digital locks, biometric systems, and electronic access control.
• Install, repair, and replace locks on doors, windows, safes, and security systems.
• Offer advice on lock brands, security upgrades, or burglary prevention techniques.
• Ensure replacement parts and materials meet durability and safety expectations.
• Provide security assessments for homes, businesses, or vehicles and suggest improvements.

Preferred:

• Comfortable interpreting lock diagrams, manufacturer specs, or key code charts during service calls.
• Experience installing, repairing, and servicing locks, deadbolts, safes, and security hardware in residential or commercial settings.
• Proficient in key cutting, lock rekeying, and duplicating using manual or automated machines.
• Pays strong attention to detail when working with small mechanisms, security pins, and precision tools.
• Willing to assist with safe moving, lock retrofits, or large building rekeying projects.

You’ll keep your vehicle fully stocked with lock cylinders, tools, safety gear, and temporary hardware for after-hours repairs. You’ll coordinate with IT or security vendors when working on smart locks or network-connected entry systems. You’ll be trained in anti-theft systems, key cloning procedures, and ECU synchronization for newer models. You’ll work both independently and alongside contractors, engineers, or facility techs depending on the scope of the job. You’ll work independently on the road, managing dispatches and customer communication via mobile app or radio.
