Description:

We’re hiring an Animator Trainee who’s passionate about character performance — someone who studies expressions, body language, and timing, and wants to make every movement feel alive. You’ll assist our animation team in creating believable, expressive motion for characters across games, cutscenes, or short films. We’ll teach you core animation principles, frame-by-frame thinking, and how to make motion support narrative and emotion. You’ll work on pose-to-pose animations, expressive loops, and scene transitions using tools like Toon Boom, After Effects, or Adobe Animate. Expect to use tools like Blender, Maya, or Spine depending on the project style and pipeline. You’ll help export animation assets, manage file structures, and learn how animation integrates with design and development. We’ll guide you through character rigs, cycles, transitions, and camera moves that support storytelling and gameplay. Expect to contribute to animated assets that support UI transitions, in-game actions, cutscenes, or explainer videos. You’ll also learn how to match visual tone across characters, assets, and effects within a shared animation language.

Basic Qualifications:

• Work closely with audio teams to sync animations with sound effects, music, or voiceover.
• Animate everything from subtle facial expressions to complex action sequences.
• Understand how your animations support storytelling, gameplay, or emotional tone.
• Contribute to team brainstorming sessions with movement-driven storytelling ideas.
• Document workflows and animation libraries for team use and future scalability.

Preferred:

• Willing to adapt animation styles from hand-drawn and stylized to realistic and physics-based.
• Proficient in animation software such as Adobe After Effects, Toon Boom Harmony, Blender, or Maya.
• Able to create storyboards, animatics, and keyframe sequences that convey emotion and motion clearly.
• Able to balance visual style, performance constraints, and storytelling clarity.
• Organized with file management, version control, and layer naming conventions for collaboration.
