Description:
We’re offering a Nanny Trainee position for someone who’s ready to support a busy household with multiple children of different ages. You’ll start by shadowing experienced caregivers, learning routines, safety practices, and how to handle different age groups. You’ll help with basic care such as feeding, diaper changes, dressing, and guiding children through their daily routines. You’ll be trained to recognize children’s emotional cues, respond calmly to upset behavior, and set gentle boundaries. You’ll be shown how to track small developmental milestones and support physical, social, and cognitive growth. You’ll be trained on how to respond to tantrums, separation anxiety, and sibling disagreements with patience and structure. You’ll help prepare snacks or simple meals, and learn how to accommodate allergies or special dietary needs. You’ll help manage toys, organize children’s belongings, and maintain a clean and child-safe environment. You’ll learn how to create calm in a high-energy environment and help kids transition between activities without chaos.
Basic Qualifications:
- Assist with light household tasks related to childcare, like washing bottles or organizing toys.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect the family’s privacy and parenting style at all times.
- Use gentle discipline methods in line with the family's values and established rules.
- Take initiative when needed, but also ask questions when unsure of a family’s preferences.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment, including tidying play areas and washing children’s laundry.
Preferred:
- Background or interest in early childhood education, family care, or child psychology.
- Thrives in home-based, child-centered settings where flexibility and warmth are essential.
- Able to follow daily routines including feeding, naps, diaper changes, and playtime activities.
- Willing to accompany children to parks, libraries, playdates, or appointments safely and responsibly.
- Trained in first aid, CPR, or willing to obtain certification for emergency preparedness.
Benefits:
- You're part of the family rhythm — birthdays, traditions, even tiny celebrations.
- Paid time off, even for part-time roles — because rest matters.
- Sick days with no guilt — your health comes first.
- You’ll get smiles, hugs, and the satisfaction of making a real difference every day.
- We recognize emotional labor — and we truly appreciate it.
You’ll support dressing, hygiene, and handwashing while promoting independence in a gentle, age-suited manner. You’ll practice communicating clearly with both children and parents, giving respectful updates on behavior and needs. You’ll build respectful communication habits with parents, keeping them updated on routines, moods, and milestones. You’ll gain experience responding to different temperaments — shy, active, sensitive, or curious — with care and adaptability. You’ll receive close guidance, regular feedback, and mentorship as you grow more confident and trusted in your care. This internship is ideal for someone exploring careers in early education, family services, or professional nanny work. This role is perfect for someone who wants to build hands-on childcare experience in a real-world family or center-based setting. If you’re nurturing by nature and want to make a meaningful difference in a child’s daily life, we’d love to welcome you.
