Description:

We’re hiring a Decorative Painter to create elegant finishes in upscale homes, hotels, boutiques, and restaurants — perfect for someone with an artistic eye, a steady hand, and deep respect for fine interior work. You’ll prepare surfaces by sanding, scraping, patching, and priming to ensure smooth, long-lasting coverage. You’ll apply paints, stains, and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment depending on the surface and project type. You’ll apply coats of paint with clean lines and consistent texture using rollers, brushes, and airless sprayers. You’ll work on feature walls, ceilings, stairwells, columns, and built-ins using both traditional and modern techniques. You’ll help mix paint to match specified colors and maintain consistency across large surfaces and multi-day projects. You’ll follow strict OSHA and jobsite protocols, including confined space entry, fall protection, and hazardous materials handling. You’ll be trusted to work in expensive and delicate environments where protection and care are paramount. You’ll communicate with interior designers, homeowners, or project managers to confirm vision and expectations.

Basic Qualifications:

• Stay updated on eco-friendly paints, surface trends, and advanced application tools.
• Apply multiple coats as needed, allowing appropriate drying time between layers.
• Collaborate with construction crews, electricians, or other trades to coordinate work timelines.
• Mix and match paints to achieve specific colors or finishes based on project requirements.
• Track paint usage, supply needs, and report low inventory to supervisors in a timely manner.

Preferred:

• Understands how to apply stains, sealants, or specialty finishes to wood, metal, or concrete surfaces.
• Enjoys transforming spaces through color, texture, and attention to surface detail.
• Familiar with preparing surfaces through sanding, scraping, patching, priming, or power washing.
• Willing to work in occupied spaces respectfully, maintaining a clean and quiet work environment.
• Organized in maintaining clean work areas, labeling materials, and properly storing paint and tools.

You’ll rotate between high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial design projects across the city or region. You’ll help clean brushes, rollers, trays, and workspaces at the end of each shift, leaving the site tidy and professional. You’ll keep a clean workstation, use premium-grade tools, and maintain full control over your materials. You’ll work under the guidance of a lead painter or foreman, and collaborate with other trades for maximum efficiency. You’ll receive mentorship from experienced painters who’ll guide you through techniques, prep methods, and product knowledge. You’ll work outdoors and indoors in loud, dirty, or extreme environments — including height or tight space work. Experience in decorative or traditional painting is a plus, but we’ll train creative, careful candidates with a passion for interior beauty.
