Description:
We’re hiring a Paramedic Trainee to support non-emergency and interfacility transport — ideal for someone who wants to build medical experience in a steady, structured setting. You’ll assist with setting up first aid stations and prepping mobile response gear before gates open to the public. You’ll assist in restocking ambulances with medical supplies, checking equipment like defibrillators, oxygen tanks, and trauma kits before each shift. You’ll assist with treating a wide range of emergencies — from heart attacks and injuries to allergic reactions and animal-related trauma. You’ll learn how to monitor patients during transit, recording vitals, comfort levels, and any changes in condition. You’ll assist in lifting patients from hazardous environments and supporting their transfer to emergency vehicles. You’ll be trained to spot early signs of medical distress in crowds, such as dehydration, intoxication, or anxiety. You’ll help restock and decontaminate gear after each mission, preparing for the next call without delay. You’ll observe how to maintain calm body language and reassuring tone even when spectators are tense or panicked.
Basic Qualifications:
- Keep certifications like CPR, ACLS, and PHTLS current through regular training and education.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately in medical records and reports.
- Work alongside police, firefighters, and other emergency services during complex incidents.
- Report equipment malfunctions or vehicle issues promptly to maintain operational readiness.
- Support disaster relief efforts, mass casualty events, or community outreach programs if required.
Preferred:
- Understands medical protocols, triage methods, and scope of practice defined by local or national regulations.
- Knows how to safely lift and transport patients using stretchers, backboards, and proper body mechanics.
- Values resilience, teamwork, and quick thinking in life-or-death situations.
- Experienced in working collaboratively with firefighters, police, and emergency room personnel.
- Can educate patients and family members about care steps or post-discharge instructions when appropriate.
Benefits:
- Career pathways beyond the rig — instructor, supervisor, dispatcher, or medic-lead.
- Paid CEUs and courses — we support your certification and license renewals.
- You’re not just a number on a roster — you’re a life-saver and we act like it.
- Overtime is optional, not forced — your health matters too.
- Make a real difference — every shift, every call, every life.
You’ll support ambulance restocking, minor vehicle checks, and route planning when GPS coverage is unreliable. You’ll gain insight into local emergency protocols, triage principles, and the critical handoff process to ER staff. You’ll help load supplies onto stretchers, distribute water or blankets, and comfort people in the first minutes after shock. You’ll work long shifts, often with little downtime, and learn how to maintain readiness, teamwork, and composure throughout. You’ll be mentored closely by rural responders who will teach you how to lead with compassion and think on your feet. No field experience is required — just grit, humility, and a strong desire to serve under pressure. This internship is ideal for someone interested in patient care, pre-hospital medicine, or nursing support roles. If you’re ready to learn where help arrives slowly and makes the biggest difference, we’re ready to train you.
