Description:

We’re looking for a Clinical Psychologist Trainee who’s ready to observe, learn, and grow in a professional mental health setting — no clinical experience required, just compassion, focus, and a genuine desire to help people heal. You’ll assist in preparing case summaries, organizing patient files, and reviewing psychological literature relevant to active cases. We’ll teach you how to observe therapeutic sessions with clinical intent — noting not just what’s said, but how it’s said. You’ll shadow therapy sessions (when appropriate), take observational notes, and participate in post-session discussions. Expect to gain exposure to common treatment methods like CBT, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy. You’ll gain exposure to a range of cases — from mild anxiety to complex trauma — and learn how each requires a unique approach. You’ll support the preparation of worksheets, feedback forms, and emotional regulation exercises used in sessions. We’ll teach you how to recognize signs of trauma, dissociation, or defense mechanisms — and respond appropriately within your trainee scope. You’ll also observe how different populations — adults, teens, children — require different therapeutic strategies.

• Respond to crises calmly and with clear protocols to protect patient safety.
• Approach every session with compassion, curiosity, and a genuine desire to help.
• Protect client confidentiality at all times and stay informed on relevant legal regulations.
• Use techniques such as CBT, DBT, ACT, or psychodynamic therapy depending on the client’s needs.

Preferred:

• Pays close attention to nonverbal cues, patterns of thought, and behavioral changes during the treatment process.
• Able to build therapeutic rapport while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Proficient in applying therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, or psychodynamic therapy.
• Organized with session scheduling, intake documentation, and referral coordination.
• Background or specialization in clinical psychology, behavioral health, trauma therapy, or assessment.
