Description:

We’re looking for a dedicated and accurate Transcriptionist to join our remote team and provide high-quality transcription services. You’ll be responsible for transcribing audio and video recordings, including interviews, focus groups, podcasts, and webinars. You’ll ensure every transcription is clear, well-structured, and includes accurate timestamps, speaker identification, and necessary formatting. You’ll ensure your transcriptions meet company standards, including accurate timestamps, speaker identification, and adherence to formatting guidelines. You’ll proofread and edit transcriptions to eliminate any errors, ensuring the final product is polished and precise. You’ll manage your time efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality in your work. You’ll assist in ensuring that all transcriptions are delivered on time, managing multiple projects without compromising quality. You’ll collaborate with clients to ensure that transcriptions meet their needs and are delivered promptly.

Basic Qualifications:

• Identify speakers in multi-person recordings and label dialogue clearly, even in fast-paced or overlapping conversations.
• Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting according to client or style guide requirements.
• Format transcripts according to specific guidelines—verbatim, clean read, time-coded, speaker-labeled, etc.
• Transcribe a variety of materials including interviews, podcasts, meetings, lectures, webinars, and legal or medical recordings.
• Stay current with transcription tools, keyboard shortcuts, and productivity techniques to increase output without losing accuracy.

Preferred:

• Familiar with transcription tools like Otter.ai, Express Scribe, Descript, or manual text editors.
• Excellent listening skills and attention to detail when transcribing audio or video files.
• Thrives in focused, detail-oriented tasks that support research, content, or accessibility.
• Familiar with confidentiality standards and secure handling of sensitive information.
• Background or interest in writing, linguistics, journalism, or data entry.
